Belmore strikes zinc

28/04/2008

Drilling at Belmore Resources’ mineral prospect near Quin in County Clare has yielded encouraging grades of zinc, silver and lead.

The PLUS-quoted exploration tiddler says one drill hole on prospecting licence 3679 has intersected 18 metres of massive sulphide, including ten metres at 13.84 per cent zinc, 5.52 per cent lead and 62.84 grammes of silver per tonne of ore. The Dublin-based Belmore says this mineralisation at licence 3679, which was part of the19th century Kilbricken lead mine, is open in all directions.

Chairman Ian Forrest says the next few months ‘promise to be an active time for the company, as we evaluate this discovery’. Floated at 6p three years ago, Belmore shares are now quoted at 3.125p (with a 2.75p to 3.5p spread), valuing the company at a mere £980,000, and offer some speculative possibilities.
