BELMORE RESOURCES (HOLDINGS) PLC ("Belmore" or "the Company") Commencement of Drilling
Belmore Resources (Holdings) Plc, a minerals exploration company with a focus on projects in the Republic of Ireland, is pleased to announce the commencement of a drill hole to test a newly defined Lead/Zinc target at Kilbricken, Co Clare on Prospecting Licence 3679.
Kilbricken is the site of an eighteenth century mining operation which previously mined small quantities of lead and zinc from within a larger calcite body. All the workings were in strata overlying the prospective Waulsortian Reef horizon. The depth of the mining was previously limited by the inability of the miners to pump water from depth.
Recent exploration for calcite has demonstrated that the Kilbricken Calcite body is by far the largest known in east Clare. Belmore believes, in light of the high grade Zn/Pb mineralization found in association with the much smaller Milltown calcite body, that the Waulsortian Reef at Kilbricken is an excellent target for Zn/Pb mineralization.
None of the relatively short holes, drilled to date at Kilbricken, have tested this target, which is likely to be at a depth of approximately 400 metres.
